About Us Safe Happy Pets (SafeHappyPets.com) began in November 2004 shortly after the accidental collar strangulation death of our long-time animal companion, Cookie. Ten years of love and care for our rescued epileptic dog ended in under 30 minutes. Out of our family's feelings of guilt, sorrow and loss, grew a passion to share our story and provide a resource site that would provide pet safety information to our website visitors. We searched the Web looking for pet memorial information, pet safety products and pet adoption information. We have taken the best of what we have found in our personal experience and applied to our website, all in hopes that you may find information beneficial to extending the life of your pet or connecting you with an animal companion needing a caring home. David Messer, founder, having worked for PetPlace.com and now president of Net Services by Design, Inc., provides his professional experience in maintaining the website. We receive no venture capital funding and we're not sponsored by a third-party entity with special interests; we're just a dedicated family hoping to get the word out about pet health and safety while supporting those who are connecting loving homes and hearts with pets needing to be adopted. There are many websites available providing quality content for your pet's health and pet-related products; we have attempted to link or feature the majority of them on our website.
